March 29: D.C. Day #1
March 30: D.C. Day #2 Goethe-Institut Gallery, 2 – 5pm

For the 2 D.C. days: based on what venue I book, one will be at U.M.D. again, and the other will be in D.C. proper. The demand was SUPER high but too many folks couldn’t make it to the UMD event because it was so far away, so I’ll be back with TWO DATES planned to end the tour.

Please RSVP in the comments or on Facebook if it’s linked. This is the only way I have to get a sense for how big a date will be. PLEASE DO THIS. A certain city THAT SHALL REMAIN UNNAMED did not do this and our venue was not big enough. COUGH COUGH DENVER COUGH COUGH. I’m happy to have a packed house, but it adds stress to me if a date is overbooked. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE RSVP. (I am aware there are no FB links yet. They are coming once I finalize stuff!)

Note: I will be in Portland and London/Europe this summer for BOTH LeakyCons, and I’ll have events outside of the con, so I won’t go to either place on this tour. I will book a second leg of the tour this summer prior to LeakyCon to visit all my lovely West Coast cities.

How can you help? Please let me know if you have access to or know of a good venue to host a meet-up. On last year’s tours, we held our events in: restaurants, library meeting rooms, hotel meeting rooms, the basement of a coffee shop, university lecture rooms, etc. Find a way for your school “club” to “host” me! Seriously, I don’t care where it is. As long as we have a place indoors where we can be a bit silly and noisy, that’s all that matters. I do not need to be paid for any appearances, so that should help if you’re trying to convince someone to let me make an appearance. All events, as much as I can control it, will be free and donation-based only.

If you also have a place I could crash for the night or the following day, that would also help, as touring is IMMENSELY expensive, and making the cost lower means I can tour longer and in more places. Also, this year, I do not want to do 12 Greyhound trips in a row because I wanted to DIE after that last year. If you want to roadtrip to multiple events, I am also open to this! Please contact me at the email address below if you’d like to have me annoy you for hours in a car.

Anyway, I would like to spend the ENTIRE month of March on the road, so let it fly. Comment, RSVP on any Facebook pages linked up above, and if you’d like to contact me privately, my email is markreadsandwatches [at] gmail [dot] com.

I dearly hope to meet many of you. This is going to RULE. LET’S GET TO WORK.

LET’S. DO. IT. Y’all, it is high time I head back on the road to meet some of you and celebrate this wacky community we have here. I SHALL GO FORTH, I SHALL READ TERRIBLE THINGS TO YOU, AND WE SHALL BE MERRY.

This post will act as the placeholder for this tour as it develops, so you can always check back as details develop. I won’t spread this over multiple posts. Bookmark this page!

March 23: Ottawa, ON
March 24: Montreal, PQ
March 25: Boston, MA
March 26: Providence, RI
March 27: Syracuse, NY
March 28: New York City, NY
March 29: D.C. Day #1
March 30: D.C. Day #2

For the Cedar Point day: It’s been a dream of mine to return to Cedar Point. If it’s possible, I’d like to roadtrip with people from Cleveland out to Sandusky because there’s no way I want to take Amtrak/Greyhound there. That way, we can get early and have a carpool party. For my Ann Arbor date on the 21st, I can leave out of Cleveland OR Toledo, so if someone from Toledo wants to give me a place to crash, I would love it.

Note: I will be in Portland and London/Europe this summer for BOTH LeakyCons, and I’ll have events outside of the con, so I won’t go to either place on this tour. I will book a second leg of the tour this summer prior to LeakyCon to visit all my lovely West Coast cities.

Mark Reads ‘The Affair of the Asphyxiated Acafan’

Hello, folks! This is a little untraditional, but I like sharing some of the commissions I get with y’all, and this one in particular is pretty awesome. Generally, I just stick my videos in my YouTube Channel and put them on Twitter, but in this case, this massive Sherlock fic I just read is worthy of some additional attention.
