GAH. I seriously don’t know what to say. I’m shocked, to say the least, and I have no clue how there are two more novels after this. I don’t! I don’t understand how Yeine’s plan was found out. Was this why Dekarta was so open about his past? Did he know Yeine was going to die this way? Because Relad and Scimina seemed rather surprised at the end here, so I’m assuming they didn’t have a hand in what Viraine did. Ugh, did the Enefadeh know? No, wait, they couldn’t have. They couldn’t! They would try to keep Yeine alive.
Seriously:
“No father is pleased to see children who have turned on him.” Dekarta’s gaze drifted to me. I wondered if it was me he saw, or just Kinneth’s eyes in my face.
