Mark Reads Short Stories Nominated for Hugos!

This is awesome! So, unless you didn’t hear, I am nominated for a Hugo Award as a Fan Writer this year! Which is IMMENSELY EXCITING! I made a wonderful friend at LeakyCon a week ago, and she thought it would be brilliant to get me to read all three of the short story nominations for this year’s Hugos. LET US JOURNEY FORTH TOGETHER.

There are only three nominations this year, which makes voting easier only in the sense that you don’t have to pick between five things. However, in terms of quality, it’s nearly impossible, as all three of these stories are INCREDIBLE.

Mantis Wives by Kij Johnson

Immersion by Aliette de Bodard

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

Mono no Aware by Ken Liu

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

My goal is not to tell you who to vote for. (Because at this point, I CANNOT CHOOSE BETWEEN THESE THREE.) In case you find the prospect of reading so many things daunting, feel free to listen to me read them! And consider voting for myself or others in this year’s Hugos if you can. It’s a wonderful honor and organization. 🙂
