Hello, cousins! (Hey, I picked that up at CrossingsCon.) It’s time for another absolutely attempt at predicting a\u00c2\u00a0Young Wizards<\/em> book. Will I be as eerily accurate as the last time? LET US SEE.<\/p>\n

I’m actually rather proud of my first batch of predictions for this series, and I am going to ride this wave of good fortune by trying to do the same thing a second time. I feel confident! I feel certain! This will probably be embarrassing, but OH WELL.<\/p>\n

First things first: some gloating. Here’s what I said would happen in\u00c2\u00a0High Wizardry<\/em>:<\/p>\n

  1. Kit and Nita will get assigned a new task.\u00c2\u00a0Indeed, an easy prediction.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. It will be dangerous.\u00c2\u00a0Also cheating, but cut me some slack, I am so wrong so often.\u00c2\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Their adversary will be the Lone Power.\u00c2\u00a0Also easy and SUCH A GOOD CONFLICT, so I’m glad I’m right.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  4. Tom and Carl will appear again.\u00c2\u00a0As they should! PUT THEM IN ALL THE BOOKS.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  5. AND THEY WILL MEET NITA\u00e2\u20ac\u2122S PARENTS.\u00c2\u00a0EVEN BETTER. THAT’S 5\/5, I’M SO STOKED.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  6. The Callahans will ask to see more of their daughter\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s wizardry.\u00c2\u00a0Strangely, I don’t think this one counts. While they witnessed more of it, I don’t know that they ever explicitly asked to see more of it.\u00c2\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n
  7. Dairine will begin studying to be a wizard, too!!! SHE HAS TO, SHE KNOWS, SHE HAS THE APTITUDE FOR IT.\u00c2\u00a0I HAD NO IDEA THIS WOULD BE THE MAIN PLOT SO EVEN THOUGH I GOT THIS RIGHT, I WAS STILL WRONG.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  8. Dairine and Nita will fight over this.\u00c2\u00a0What have I done.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  9. Kit and Nita will talk about their ~feelings~ for one another at some point in the book.\u00c2\u00a0WHAT HAVE I WROUGHT<\/strong><\/li>\n
  10. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m guessing that the title refers to FLYING. So\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6 they\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll be birds? Or something?\u00c2\u00a0Look, in hindsight, this is not all that terrible of a prediction. If\u00c2\u00a0Deep Wizardry<\/span><\/em> followed their journey in the ocean, it stood to reason that the “high” part was in the sky. SHUT UP, THIS IS GREAT LOGIC.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n
  11. What if it was about marijuana use.\u00c2\u00a0Shut up, Mark.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  12. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122M KIDDING, DON\u00e2\u20ac\u2122T DO DRUGS, STAY IN SCHOOL.\u00c2\u00a0(I still stand by this message, though I find it hilarious because I actually dropped out of college. I once gave a lecture at a college \u00e2\u20ac\u201c one I was paid for!!! \u00e2\u20ac\u201c where I teased everyone at the end of it because I didn’t have my degree and I was considered an expert. I plan to do this at least seven more times in my career.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  13. Nita\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s bully will make another appearance.\u00c2\u00a0Not a bad prediction, but nope.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  14. Nita and Kit will have to do wizardry at school.\u00c2\u00a0NO SCHOOL AT ALL.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  15. I AM NOT READY.\u00c2\u00a0Truth. An ETERNAL truth.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    So, here we go.\u00c2\u00a0A Wizard Abroad.<\/em><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Nita and Kit will travel outside for the United States for the first time.<\/li>\n
    2. My guess is that it will be a school-sponsored trip. We had a few of those in high school, and they’re just about to be the right age to be in high school.<\/li>\n
    3. They will travel to the United Kingdom!<\/li>\n
    4. Specifically, I’m guessing they go to London.<\/li>\n
    5. At some point, they’ll travel to a SECOND country.<\/li>\n
    6. While on this trip, they will be assigned a mission by the Powers That Be.<\/li>\n
    7. They’ll have to use a translation spell at some point to speak with someone!<\/li>\n
    8. They will use that awesome transport spell to travel a long distance on Earth at least once.<\/li>\n
    9. I predict EVEN MORE ANGST and FRICTION between Kit and Nita regarding their friendship and feelings for one another.<\/li>\n
    10. The Lone Power will be mentioned, but will NOT be the antagonist for the book.<\/li>\n
    11. The villain\/antagonist will be a new character.<\/li>\n
    12. Who will also rise in the vacuum left behind by the Lone Power.<\/li>\n
    13. No one will tragically die at the end of the book. That’s a demand more than a prediction.<\/li>\n
    14. Let’s get meta: at least once, I’ll get to tell a story about traveling abroad.<\/li>\n
    15. At least once, there will be a scene so bizarre and unexpected that I will be rendered speechless on video.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      All right, cousins. Let’s do this!\u00c2\u00a0Young Wizards\u00c2\u00a0<\/em>book four, here I come!!!<\/p>\n
