Mark Reads ‘The Demon’s Surrender’: Part I

Hello, friends! As promised, I was not going to take a million years to continue with this trilogy, AND HERE I AM. Well, here I am having my heart stomped on, but such is the case with this series. It wouldn’t be a Sarah Rees Brennan book without relentless suffering.

First things first! The lovely Gail commissioned a piece that Sarah Rees Brennan released when the paperback version of The Demon’s Covenant came out. It’s called “Quiet in the House,” and it is one of the most unnerving and terrifying things anyone’s ever asked me to read for this site.

Part 3

Both Natalie and Devon commissioned a chapter each from The Demon’s Surrender, kicking off this book for me. I was immediately surprised that Brennan chose to make Sin the narrator, though I should have expected it, given how she did the same thing in The Demon’s Covenant. IT’S SO WONDERFUL. I mean, it’s no secret I adore Sin, so now I get to experience the last book through her eyes. That also means my heart is going to burst with sadness every chapter because HOLY GOD, I AM OVERWHELMED WITH FEELINGS FOR WHAT SIN IS GOING THROUGH. Rejection from Alan, forced competition with Mae, watching Merris lose control of her body to Liannan, realizing that Alan can be tortured by the magicians at any time they want… IT’S TOO MUCH.

Oh god, I am so excited for this book. Here are your lovely videos!

Enjoy, y’all! I am re-designing my online store, but will continue reading this as soon as I can!
